Cr Gwenda Allgood
Ararat resident Cr Gwenda Allgood was first elected to Council in 1982 and has served five terms as Mayor (1988/89, 2000/01, 2002/03, 2008/2009 and 2009/2010).
Cr Allgood is committed to listening to the issues of local residents and believes that there should be support and balance across both rural and urban areas. Her key areas of focus are road improvements, infrastructure, youth retention, upgrading sporting facilities, tourism, more services for the elderly, new industries, new housing areas and continuing support for the smaller townships.
