Cr John Cunningham
Councillor John Cunningham, of Ararat, was first elected to Council in 2004 and is committed to representing all residents in the City’s rural and urban areas.
He is also keen to develop Ararat as a regional centre of excellence, through major projects that will improve livability. He is also passionate about increasing the utilisation of Ararat’s historical attractions and developing Green Hill Lake as a public asset. Cr Cunningham would also like to improve the way Local Government is funded by State and Federal governments.
Cr Cunningham is married with four children and five grandchildren each of whom he credits with giving him the motivation to work hard for the local community to achieve a sustainable future. He encourages residents to see Council as an important part of their community, which works for them, rather than just another tier of government.
