Cr Murray Woods
Councillor Murray Woods has lived in Ararat all of his life and was first elected to Council in November 2008.
For many years, he has been a dedicated community volunteer. Currently he is President of the Y’s Men’s Club, is on the Board of Management for McGregor House and is a member of the CFA, Ararat Centenary Lodge and the Golden Gateway Festival.
Cr Woods believes that while the municipality is thriving and has great potential, there is still much to be done in terms of representation for farming communities and small townships. Road infrastructure is a major focus for Cr Woods, as is encouraging more business investment to the City to increase employment.
Cr Woods is married with two children and two grandchildren.
