Emergency Management
The Environmental Health Officer is involved in the Municipal Emergency Planning and Recovery Committees and provides health related advice for planning responses during and after emergencies.
Council has designated the following Neighbourhood Safer Places:
- The surrounds of the Ararat Performing Arts Centre
- The Willaura Recreational Reserve
- Lake Bolac Recreational Reserve
- Moyston Recreation Reserve

A Township Protection Plan (TPP) have been prepared for Pomonal and can be accessed via the CFA website

As required under the Victorian Emergency Management Act, Council plays a key role in Emergency Management throughout the Municipality.
Council works closely with a number of other agencies including Victoria Police, SES, CFA, Red Cross, and Ambulance Victoria and takes a lead role in emergency management planning, response and recovery.
