This includes the investigation and control of nuisances such as noise, smoke, odours, etc.
Issues of public health significance can be reported to our Environmental Health Officer. Reports are treated confidentially and investigated with the aim of resolving the issue promptly.
In the case of issues relating to neighbourhood disputes, it is often the best approach to speak to your neighbour or the person you feel is causing the nuisance. In many instances they may be unaware that an activity is in fact creating a nuisance. Ararat Rural City Council suggests that this action take place in the first instance. Discussion can then take place about how to resolve the problem.
